"An MA in Historical Landscapes focusing on the 18th and 19th centuries led to further research — after which it seemed natural to write Regency romances."

Hazel Williams is a Historical and Regency romance writer, author of A Christmas Masquerade and the forthcoming novel The Verley Scandal. She has an MA in Historical Landscapes specialising in England of the 18th and 19th centuries. Her enduring interest in the history, costume and art of that period stems from a love of classical literature and romantic fiction set in the period from Georgette Heyer onward. In retirement, she lives in York, England, with her husband within sound of the Minster bells and appreciates her good fortune to live in a beautiful historical city.

“Aunt Letty, how can I possibly need so many gowns and pelisses? I would have to be changing my dress several times a day!”

“That is precisely what you will do in London, Julia.” Aunt Letty looked up at her from where she stood examining a new bonnet, as if it were obvious.

“But I’m not going to London.” Julia felt her knees begin to tremble.
